What a Blocksthor—Aristhor’s specialized blockchain for guarantees (or attestations)—is and is not


What a Blocksthor is, like any other blockchain

A Blocksthor is a shared digital ledger where information is recorded in a manner that is:

  • timestamped (the time of entry is known),
  • traceable (the history can be tracked),
  • tamper-resistant (modifying entered data is extremely complex),
  • distributed (multiple parties hold a copy of the ledger).

Within the Aristhor guarantee platform, the Blocksthor does not store the full content of the guarantees, but rather their cryptographic fingerprint (a "hash"). A guarantee is an attestation confirming a fact of any kind.

What a cryptographic fingerprint is

A cryptographic fingerprint of a document is a type of:

  • unique digital identifier,
  • mathematical digest

Example:

A PDF, audio, or video testimonial is converted into a unique character string (128 hexadecimal characters).
This string is recorded in a timestamped block on the Blocksthor blockchain.

Thus:

  • if the testimonial guarantee is modified, even slightly, the fingerprint changes completely;
  • it is therefore possible to prove that a document already existed at a specific date;
  • its authenticity can be verified without disclosing its content.

What Blocksthor offers in this context

1. Proof of prior existence

It makes it possible to demonstrate:

  • that a guarantee existed on a specific date;
  • that it has not been altered since it was recorded.


2. Integrity of evidence

Blocksthor acts as a "digital seal":

  • it protects against even the slightest alterations;
  • it reinforces trust in the records.


3. Traceability

Each entry in a block can be:

  • timestamped,
  • signed,
  • linked to another block or to a specific procedure.


4. Decentralization

Evidence data does not rely on a single server or institution. Multiple copies are distributed.

 

What a blocksthor is NOT

❌ It is not a guarantee of truth

Blocksthor can prove:

  • that a document existed,
  • that it has not changed,
  • that it was "guaranteed" by one or more guarantors;

but it cannot prove:

  • that the guarantee provided by the witness is true,
  • that the guarantor is telling the truth,
  • that the facts associated with the document actually occurred.

It guarantees technical integrity, not human veracity. However, the guarantor stakes their reputation on their cryptographic signature, which is comparable to a signature placed at the bottom of a paper document.

 

❌ It is not a magical, unlimited storage solution.

Directly storing:

  • videos, audio files, entire folders, etc.

on a blockchain is often:

  • costly,
  • slow,
  • inefficient, and contrary to the fundamental concept of blockchain technology.

In practice:

  • the content remains off-chain;
  • only the digital fingerprint of the document or guarantee is recorded on the blockchain.

 

❌ It is not completely anonymous by default

A public Blocksthor instance may leave some traces:

  • timestamps,
  • key fingerprints of block signers (allowing the signers to be identified),
  • links between documents and guarantees (without revealing their content).

Blocksthor is designed to limit these traces, but in certain cases, additional measures are required:

  • encryption,
  • anonymization,
  • access management.

 

❌ It is not tamper-proof in the absolute sense.

A blockchain significantly reduces the risk of alteration, but:

  • surrounding systems can be compromised;
  • private keys used to sign blocks and guarantees can be stolen;
  • the initial data may be incorrect.

The "garbage in, garbage out" principle still applies.

We store everything that can be digital:

  • text,
  • audio,
  • video,
  • documents,
  • identity details (where applicable).


On the Blocksthor
We store:

  • cryptographic fingerprint of the document or the "root" fingerprint of the Merkle tree for multiple documents,
  • timestamp,
  • identifier,
  • signature,
  • minimal metadata.

Simple summary

A "blocksthor" is primarily used to:

  • prove the existence of a guarantee—specifically, a testimony vouching for a fact;
  • prove that this guarantee has not been altered;
  • maintain a timestamped and verifiable record.

It is not used to:

  • efficiently store large amounts of content;
  • determine the truth;
  • replace an investigation;
  • automatically guarantee anonymity, even though the guarantors' identities never appear directly in the blocksthor.
     

In conclusion

A Blocksthor is an integrity-verification and timestamping mechanism that certifies a guarantee existed in a specific form at a given moment in time.
When paired with the Aristhor.com platform, the benefits of Blocksthor extend to the easy mobilization of guarantors and the automated, decentralized distribution of the Blocksthor itself.

Any individual—or animal, object, AI, etc.—can have its own Blocksthor(s) to vouch for significant life events by inviting friends, witnesses, and guarantors to participate.

Take objects, for example: a car might change owners but retain its own Blocksthor record of every accident, modification, and repair—signed by various parties such as owners, mechanics, and drivers—who thus become guarantors of its successive "adventures."
